Although Greater Glasgow sprawls out for nearly 80 square miles, the central area of the city is compact and can be easily negotiated by foot. For the visitor, Central Glasgow can be divided into two main areas - the City Centre, which makes up the majority and contains much of the city’s shopping and entertainment district, as well as its commercial heart, and the West End – the bohemian area of cafés, restaurants and bars surrounding the University of Glasgow and Kelvingrove Museum.
The best way to travel between Glasgow City Centre and the West End is on the city’s underground. The two main underground stations in the City Centre are Buchanan Street and St Enoch while the main tourist stops in the West End are Kelvinhall, Hillhead and Kelvinbridge.

University of Glasgow
The University of Glasgow is the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland's four ancient universities. The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) is the main gallery of contemporary art in Glasgow, Scotland. Pollok Country Park
Pollok Country Park is a large country park located in south Glasgow. The park is the largest urban green space in Europe and in 2007 it was named the best park in Britain. Furthermore, in 2008, it was named the Best Park in Europe, beating off strong competition from parks in Italy, France, Germany, Poland and Sweden.
The Burrell Collection
The Burrell contains an important collection of medieval art including stained glass and tapestries, oak furniture, medieval weapons and armour, Islamic art, artefacts from ancient Egypt and China, Impressionist works by Degas and Cézanne, modern sculpture and a whole host of other artefacts from around the world, all collected by one man.
Glasgow Science Centre
The Glasgow Science Centre is one of Scotland's must-see visitor attractions - presenting concepts of science and technology in unique and inspiring ways. The Science Centre is of Glasgow's landmark buildings and it houses three floors of over 250 interactive science-learning exhibits, a Science Show Theatre and the Glasgow Science Centre Planetarium.
Provand's Lordship
Step back in time and discover Glasgow’s unique history with a visit to the oldest house in the city. Provand’s Lordship was built in 1471, originally as part of a hospital, and is one of only four medieval buildings to survive in Glasgow.
